Chief Procurement Officer
Our Client in the food industry is looking for a Chief Procurement Officer that will lead the Supply Chain Management and Procurement group.
Reporting into the Chairman of the Board, the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) will be responsible for leading the Procurement and Sourcing strategy across Canada and identifying profitability through top and bottom line. The CPO will be overseeing distribution services, procurement, negotiation, finance and the overall strategic direction for the business. As a leader in this area you will be leading the team and building a high performance organization with best practices in Sourcing and Procurement. The CPO will be leading and executing the Procurement and Supply Chain strategy for the group. You will manage the quarterly board agenda and the board content, implementing the directivities of the board. Also, working with the Finance Director you will ensure corporate compliance maintaining a healthy working capital. The CPO will be constantly responsible to build the organization’s competency in its commodity knowledge and work in collaboratively with senior leaders and executives.
As the ideal candidate for this role, you bring 10+ yrs of experience in the Food, Beverage or QSR industry. The CPO will focus on Procurement and Sourcing initiatives , therefore you must have stronger experience on the Procurement / Sourcing side the other facets of Supply Chain. You must understand the complexities dealing with the food, beverage categories. Being a strong leader, negotiator and a results driven professional is key to the success of this position. Experience in setting operational best practices and change management is an asset. You must have working knowledge of finance in terms of budgeting, cost management, risk management etc. The knowledge of enterprise risk management and business continuity planning is essential in this role. The CPO must have high standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information. Exceptional communication and leadership skills are key in this role and there will be 15% domestic travel required in this role.
